Who can be an account owner?

You can open an account if you:

Are a U.S. citizen or legal resident alien
Have a Social Security number or Tax ID number (required by federal law)
Provide a street address. You can use a P.O. Box for the mailing address.

If you are opening an account in the name of a trust or using proceeds from a Coverdell Education Savings Account to open an account where a minor is the account owner, download an enrollment form.
